Lakay Hasn’t Given Up On European Dream

Pyramids FC forward Fagrie Lakay has admitted that part of the reasons he made a move to play in North Africa was so that he could get closer to his dream of playing abroad.

Lakay has featured for Santos, SuperSport United and Cape Town City in South Africa before and added that going to Egypt he wanted to challenge himself, build a good reputation while staying focused on the bigger dream.

The 26 year old also told IDiski Times in the current edition of the newspaper about  finding stability in Egypt, a place he considers home.

“For me, growing up, I always wanted to go and play in Europe, still one of my dreams,” Lakay told iDiski Times.

“But when the opportunity came from Pyramids, I told myself, why not go outside, to Egypt, and it’s one step closer to Europe, and challenge yourself and build my rep.”

“For me, I feel like a home. It’s only been, it will be two years in Jan. But since the first day I arrived, I feel they welcomed me well, I adapted well. So I feel differently. For me, this is my home. I’d like to call it my home. But this is my home.”

“And like I said, as a player, we set targets for ourselves, and we want to do good things. And for me personally, I would like to build something good with Pyramids, and make it my home.”
