Ahead of the DStv Premiership clash with AmaZulu on Wednesday evening, Lehlohonolo Seema says he appreciates the week spent in Polokwane with his players as it has allowed him to get to know them a bit better.
The Sekhukhune United head coach joined the side from Polokwane City in November arriving to a tight schedule that included the Group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Though Ba Bina Noko play their home matches in Limpopo’s capital they are based in Gauteng. However they spent the past week in Polokwane where they played three matches, one in the League which they won and two Confed Cup encounters where they bagged four points to keep their African adventure alive.
Seema says he got to speak to his players individually and he even has ideas of what he is going to do with those that haven’t played much this season.
“Staying in Polokwane I think it was a mini-camp sort of and actually it worked well for me as a new member,” said Seema.
“I got to have one on ones and I got to talk to the players and try to understand them and also we spoke a lot. I think it helped to answer your question and in so many ways. Credit must go to the organisers of the team and management for granting us that. It helped”
“We played three games in a short period of time. We didn’t lose any game. Yes the players are tired but they fought and we can take a lot of positives from these games and it has just given me an idea also in terms of other players that haven’t played long. Now I think I have an idea and then we’ll sit down as the technical team and try and map our way forward so that we can assemble the squad that can take us through the season”
“We will assemble a good team against AmaZulu because we need those points as much as they need them. It’s not going to be easy. They lost their last game and I’m sure that they wouldn’t want to lose two games in a row. It’s going to be a very difficult one but rest assured we will assemble a good as we go and fight on Wednesday”
