National U15 coach Vela Khumalo said it was a good test of character after the South African team lost 4-2 to the Ivory Coast in Morocco on Tuesday.
It was the first of two games in a mini-tournament for Khumalo’s side.
“I think it was a good test for our boys,” Khumalo told SAFA’s media department
“A good test of character for our boys and exactly what we anticipated.
“I think I cannot blame the initiative.
“I think the initiative is more about development of the U15 youngsters and I think we are learning, and we’re doing it right, and I’m happy with that.”
South Africa will play hosts Morocco on the 17th before heading home.
