Former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has announced that he has retired from coaching – but he left a little back door open.
Klopp, 57, had announced he needed a sabbatical from the beautiful game and left Liverpool after nine years at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

However, while many believed he would just take a one-year break, Klopp might not coach another game in his career.
“As of today, that’s it for me as a coach. I didn’t quit out of a mood, but it was a general decision. I’ve also coached the best clubs in the world,” he said on the sidelines of a coaching congress in Germany, as per Kicker.
But, Klopp insisted he is too young to just play paddle-tennis and focus on his grand children, saying he will return to work, however, possibly not as coach.
“Whether I’d coach again, I’d say no as of now. But maybe be can talk about it in a months from now,” he added.
“I am motivated to work in football, to help others with my experience and contacts. We will see what comes.”
Klopp had been linked with the vacant English head coach job but insisted, “it would be the biggest loss of face in football history”, if he made a u-turn on his decision to take a break.
