Mamelodi Sundowns coach Steve Komphela has responded to Siphiwe Tshabalala calling him one of the best coaches he has worked with.
The 53-year-old won his first trophy in senior management after helping Masandawana to lift the 2020/21 DStv Premiership trophy.
His former player Tshabalala recently praised the ex-Amakhosi coach, saying he is one of the best he’s worked with before insisting he was more than just a football coach.
“I have worked with a lot of coaches in my career and Steve Komphela will down as one of the coach I have worked with. He is the best coach in SA but a lot of people won’t understand. He is more than a football coach but a life coach,” Shabba told Radio2000.
Komphela was sent the comments on social media and responded to the high praise he received from his former player.
“It was a unique and great privilege to work with the likes of you @siphiweshabba generation,” he wrote.
“I enjoyed working with and I enjoyed the football you guys played though we were too generous and not ruthless enough.
“A moment I cannot exchange for anything. Re ya leboha #Shaye.”
Tshabalala made 103 appearances under Komphela, scoring 16 goals and assisting in another 28.
