Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis has named her starting line-up for tonight’s crunch WAFCON 2026 Group B final clash against Burkina Faso at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca.
South Africa have surprisingly had a very slow start in the continental showpiece and are yet to register a win after their shock 2-1 defeat to Tanzania in the opening match before they came from two goals down to hold Ivory Coast to a pulsating 2-2 draw last time out.
Nothing but a win will give the South Africans a glimmer of hope as they will be closely paying attention to the clash between table-toppers Ivory Coast to get the better of the Twigga Stars.
Only the top two teams from each group will progress to the quarter-finals. This also means that the last eight winners (four teams) will automatically secure their berths to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil next year.
Here’s how Banyana will line-up:
Banyana Starting XI: Swart, Maponya, Mbane, Dhlamini, Magama, Jane, Cesane, Motlhalo, Ludwig, Magaia, Kgatlana
Subs: Dlamini, Moletsane, Ramalepe, Mhlongo, Pila, October, Gamede, Salgado, Hadebe, Mthandi, Holweni, Moodaly, Motau, Majiya, Donnelly
Burkina Faso Starting XI: Dabilgou, Sow, Congo, Belem, R. Sawadogo, B. Sawadogo, Rouamba, Kabre, Nana, Sam, Ouoba
