Kaizer Chiefs’ Edmilson Dove and his Mozambique have become the latest nation to book their ticket at the Africa Cup of Nations In Ivory Coast next year.
Mozambique had to become from behind to beat Benin 2-1 at home to secure their spot at the tournament in Ivory Coast.
Dove started on the bench, as Benin took an early lead via Steve Mounie from the penalty spot.
But The Mambas turned the game around in the first half still, thanks to goals by Witi and Guima in the 27th and 31st minute.
Benin, who needed a win in this match do overtake Mozambique, equalised early in the second half via Jodel Dossou to make it an interesting affair.
But the home side kept their calm and scored the winner in extra-time to celebrate their fifth qualification for the AFCON.
The result saw Mozambique defend second place in Group L with 10 points, while Benin stayed on five.
The Mambas and reigning AFCON champions Senegal qualified from this group.
