Pirates – Leopard Starting XIs Confirmed

Orlando Pirates have named their starting line-up for this evening’s CAF Confederation Cup clash against eSwatini’s Royal Leopard.

The two sides meet again in the group stages, with Pirates having won the first game played at Mbombela Stadium with a 6-2 scoreline.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing on that day, as Leopard went into a 2-0 lead before Pirates turned things around.

While a victory today would not yet guarantee Pirates qualification for the knockout stages, it would take them to within one result of that being the case.

They are currently on six points in Group B after three games, trailing group leaders Al-Ittihad by one point. Third-placed Saoura are on four points, while Leopard have zero.

Pirates have set their target on success in this competition, following their exit from the Nedbank Cup last week, and with them almost certainly out of the DStv Premiership title race.

Meanwhile, Mandla Ncikazi confirmed in the pre-match conference that Thembinkosi Lorch will be unavailable after picking up another injury. However Richard Ofori has been included in the line-up, as he gets his second consecutive start since returning from injury.

Here’s how they line-up:

Orlando Pirates XI: Ofori, Nyauza, Ndah, Mako, Shandu, Mosele, Monare, Dlamini, Makaringe, Hotto, Peprah

Subs: Montshane, Dzvukamanja, Makhubela, Lepasa, Maela, Sam, Mabaso, Makgaka, Jele

Royal Leopard: N.Dlamini, Mabelesa, Msibi, Mokenkoane, Simelane, Magagula, Matse, Mbuli, Maseko, B.Dlamini, Sithole
