Pitso Makes Surprise Admission After Ahly Return

Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has made a surprising revelation about forward Kahraba who was loaned out to SuperLig side Hatayaspor.

The Egypt international completed a six-month loan move to the Turkish top-flight side with an option to buy, ending his stint with the record 10-time CAF Champions League winners.

His role at the club was significantly diminished after a string of off-the-field issues while his public fallout with Mosimane eventually saw him banned before his return coincided with a significantly diminished squad role.

This led to his inevitable exit but the South African tactician stopped short of claiming he sanctioned the exit of the former Zamalek star.

“If I didn’t like Kahraba, I wouldn’t have played him against Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup,” he told MBC Egypt Television Channel.

“There is a lot of competition, we have Percy Tau, Luis Miquissone, Hussein El-Shahat, Ahmed Abdelkader, Taher Mohamed, and Walid Soliman, it’s tough competition.

“I have Mohamed Sherif who scored 26 goals last season, and sometimes he starts on the bench. Kahraba’s exit wasn’t my decision, I was informed by the club’s board upon my return from my vacation.”
