Broos Confirms Bafana Squad Change

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has confirmed a change to the squad ahead of the scheduled fixtures against eSwatini and Ivory Coast.

The two games which will be used as final preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda in November, and the Africa Cup of Nations will offer Broos insight into where they perhaps need last-minute alterations.

While the Belgian coach who won the 2017 AFCON with Cameroon, stated he’s confident in his current crop of players, the likes of Njabulo Blom, Paseka Mako and Sibongeseni Mthethwa will have the chance to stake their claim over the next two weeks.

However, he’ll be without Percy Tau who’s pulled out of the squad due to family issues, the Belgian confirmed.

“I’m very happy that Sibisi is no problem, it was head contact, a little concussion so he is okay, little problem with Grant Kekana, he is okay – did and MRI but he’s here,” Broos said.

“Mdantsane from Chiefs replaces [Percy Tau].”
