Lamontville Golden Arrows head coach Mabhuti Khenyeza has given an update on Sicelo Hlatshwayo after a bad injury at training saw him to be taken to ICU two weeks ago.
Hlatshwayo had to be admitted to hospital after he collided with one Arrows defender in training, as reported by this publication. The versatile defender even landed in ICU and only woke up after a few hours.
But on 12 December, the 29-year-old was discharged from hospital but was kept under the watchful eye of doctors and Khenyeza revealed that he is expected to return to training some time this week.
“Sicelo is okay, I think he will be back on training in the week but he is okay. There is nothing difficult,” Khenyeza told the media after his side’s 2-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates.
“We were just traumatised by the drips of hospital but it’s a part and process of hospital.”
The former Marumo Gallants defender has already returned to training and shared some positive words on his social media accounts, but he is yet to make an appearance this season.
With Arrows having lost their last six matches in all competitions and conceded 12 goals, the former Jomo Cosmos defender could become an option to help end the negative trend when he returns fully.
