Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Collins Makgaka failed to earn himself a move to Stellenbosch FC after recently training with the club, iDiski Times has learnt.
Makgaka joined Pirates at the beginning of 2020/21 season from Baroka FC after they got relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
But in the three seasons he spent at Pirates, he only played 680 minutes, scoring two goals and assisted on two occasions.
At the beginning of 2021/22 season Stellies were understood to be after his signature but the deal never materialised back then.
A few weeks ago, Pirates announced the termination of his contract and he was being assessed by Stellenbosch FC in the Cape Winelands.
However, iDiski Times has been told that he has stopped training with club. He will continue to search for a new club ahead of 2023/24 season.
Steve Barker’s side already announced the signings of experienced goalkeeper in Oscarine Masuluke, centre-backs Thabo Moloisane and Ismael Toure as well as right-back Basil Mphahlele.
