Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler was left concerned by his players’ attitude after going a goal down against their arch-rivals Stellenbosch FC.
City lost their fourth straight Western Cape derby on Wednesday night and that left Tinkler very frustrated.
It was a tight game up until the opening goal from Andre de Jong in the 43rd minute. But things changed in the second half, as City dropped and Stellies were all over them and scored two goals making it 3-0.
This was the joint-heaviest defeat for the Citizens in the history of the Western Cape derby and Tinker questioned the attitude of his players and was left disappointed as he felt they had quality and experience.
“That’s where my disappointment is, especially when you have a lot of experience out on the field that response should be positive, there should be more fight, there should be more aggression.
“But I didn’t see that, it was almost like I don’t care attitude and that’s a concern.
“We’ve got to be better in those moments, especially with the quality that we have and the experience that we have.
“Those moments we need to be better. If I was with a bunch of youngsters maybe, but there was a lot of experience out there.”
