New Royal AM coach Khabo Zondo has broken his silence rumours on linking striker Victor Letsoalo with an exit from the club.
Letsoalo, 29, netted 14 goals in 26 DStv Premiership appearances last season, helping Thwihli Thwahla to finish in third place and book their ticket for CAF football.
However, he has been linked with a move away from the club, with Orlando Pirates said to be interested, while Kaizer Chiefs were understood also saying up signing him.
Royal AM, though, slapped an initial R20 million asking prize on their striker, which has put off potential suitors who have since signed other options. Zondo also insisted the club must do everything in their power to keep hold of the striker.
“Whatever we do, leave Letsoalo there. He has been a very important part of the success of the club,” he told Andile Ncube on the Sport Night Amplified.

“You wanna break it, it might take us time to adapt again to a new person. Let those that have been there, keep on doing what they’ve been doing.
“They will be given competition by the ones that are coming in, new strikers or new players.”
Zondo also insisted that he’s happy with the club’s transfer business so far, but he expects a few more additions to prepare the squad for a campaign with CAF Confederations Cup and domestic football.
“I’m pretty happy, there are a few positions we need look at,” he added.
“Obviously we going to Africa and we know how demanding it’s gonna be, traveling to Africa and coming back.
“You need to do well there and here. The club’s that have played there before, they’ve given us the idea of how difficult it is.
“Look if it’s not a difficult job don’t take it. I would never wanna take an easy [job].
“Maybe it is one of those things that made me not to be in the game that long. I was eyeing the big ones. Now I got a big one. It was worth waiting for.”
