Sekhukhune United have announced their latest two editions, former Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso and former Free State Stars right-back Katlego Mkhabela.
The 33-year-old was one of 12 players released by Amakhosi and penned a three-year deal with Babina Noko, while Mkhabela joins from Free State Stars.
“Babina Noko are continuing to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2022/23 DSTV Premiership football season with the latest signings of Katlego Mkhabela from Free State Stars and Daniel Antonio Cardoso from Kaizer Chiefs respectively,” the club said in a statement.
“Daniel Cardoso 33 (Centre-Back) – Joins Babina Noko from Kaizer Chiefs. The experienced defender played 185 games in seven seasons and weighed in with 12 goals. Born in Johannesburg, his professional football career started with Free State Stars, where he had an impressive stint, which earned him a transfer to the Glamour Boys. Cardoso brings with him wealth of experience to the Babina Noko’s defence.

“Katlego Mkhabela 26 (Right -Back) is from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Free State Stars FC. He started his football career with Arsenal FC (SAB League) before moving to Ella Koto in 2018. He achieved 25 league appearances last season in the GladAfrica Championship League with Free State Stars.Â

Cardoso and Mkhabela become the club’s signings number 12 and 13. Sekhukhune are also still interested in Orlando Pirates’ Ben Motshwari, former Chiefs left-back Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Cape Town City duo Tashreeq Morris and Shane Roberts.
