Jordaan Sends Message To Chiefs
SAFA president Dr Danny Jordaan has sent a message to Kaizer Chiefs ahead of their CAF Champions League final against Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly.
Jordan says this match is a historical one for Chiefs, who have reached the showpiece for the first time in their history.
He added that winning the trophy would be the perfect honour for the club’s chairman Kaizer Motaung, who has done so much for South African football.
“This match is historical for Kaizer Chiefs and it would be tremendous for Amakhosi to win this edition. There has been so much happening in the country, depressing developments and winning the Champions Trophy would give South Africans some really much needed good news,” Dr Jordaan told SAFA media.
“Kaizer has done tremendous work for South African football and winning the CAF Champions League title will be befitting reward for the hard work he has dedicated to the game. He is an icon of South African football and I am wishing him all the best.
“To the technical team (of Kaizer Chiefs), support staff and players, I want to wish you all the best in Morocco. You have come this far, so go there and enjoy yourself. Make the country proud. South Africa seriously need some positive lift.
“Believe in yourself and play for the club’s badge, your country, family and for your careers. In Kaizer Chiefs we believe.”
