Khanye Reacts To Chiefs CAFCL Heroics
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye says the Glamour Boys were lucky against Wydad Casablanca, who should be proud of their performance.
The iDiski Times analyst addressed Chiefs 1-0 aggregate win over the Moroccan giants after they held Wydad to a goalless draw in the second leg.
Khanye said that he feels Chiefs were lucky not to concede before praising the visitors for their style of play.
“I have a unique way of viewing football. I don’t care who says what. When you play the way Chiefs played today, it will affect you in the long run. The way you play determines your future,” he told iDiskiTV.
“Yes a star could lift the club because they had a bad season, but the way the play is not going to take them far.
“Today was only a matter of luck, Wydad Casablanca should be proud of themselves.
“If I were their coach, I would be proud because they lost with dignity and they kept on playing their brand of football. They were simply unlucky.”
Chiefs will now face Pitso Mosimane and Al Ahly in this year’s CAF Champions League final.
The game will be played over one leg in Casablanca on 17 July.
