Mashiane Opens Up On Final Without Fans
Happy Mashiane has opened up on approaching Saturday’s CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly, which will have no fans inside the stands.
Chiefs flew out to Casablanca yesterday, and after arriving last night, the club will continue preparations ahead of the continental showpiece on Saturday.
Mashiane says there were people waiting at the airport on their arrival, but not having supporters at the game will be sad, as the fans create the atmosphere.
“Yes, we do feel the vibe,” Mashiane told Chiefs media after arriving in Casablanca.
“There were people waiting for us at the airport. So playing a final, most of the time when there’s no supporters, that is something that we’re not gonna get used to, because football is a game where supporters have to be there so that we can feel the atmosphere.
“So now playing the final without them no, is not that great. Because it’s something that we’re going to have to work extra hard in.
“Remember when you have supporters, after every attempt, after maybe regaining the ball, there will be the crowd and they will cheer you up so that you can do better.
“So now without our supporters, it won’t be easy, but we have to fight extra hard.”
