Orlando Pirates and Jwaneng Galaxy have announced their starting line-up for today’s CAF Champions League second preliminary round second-leg clash at Orlando Stadium.
Pirates have a chance to book their place in the CAF Champions League group stages for the first time since the 2018/19 season. The Buccaneers have an advantage coming to this second leg after winning the first leg in Botswana a week ago by 2-0.
Tshegofatso Mabasa and Deon Hotto were on the scoresheet on the day, leaving the Botswana League champions on a brink of an exit. Morena Ramoreboli’s side now need to win by a two-goal margin to have a chance to make it to the group stages.
Pirates look to avoid last season’s disappointment when they got eliminated by Galaxy on penalties at Orlando Stadium in front of their supporters.
The Bucs are flying high already this season, as they’ve won all their games at Orlando, which makes fewer chances for Galaxy to have overturned a 2-0 deficit.
These two sides faced each other five times, Pirates won four and Galaxy won one. There has never been a draw between the two sides.
Here is how they line up:
Pirates XI: Chaine, Ndah, Sesane, Van Rooyen, Hotto, Makhaula, Dlamini, Gilberto, Saleng, Maswanganyi, Mabasa
Subs: Buthelezi, Mofokeng, Sibisi, Mbatha, Maela, Kimvuidi, Rasebotja, Moleleki, Radiopane.
Galaxy XI: Phoko, David, Keredilwe, Mpolokang, Setsile, Baruti, Sesinyi, Mangolo, Kebatho, Masuku, Leinanyane
