Nurkovic On His First Final In SA

TS Galaxy striker Samir Nurkovic expressed his excitement to play in his first-ever domestic cup final since arriving in South Africa.

It’s been four years since Nurkovic arrived in South Africa from Kormano FC in Serbia. The Serbian has never lifted a trophy nor played a local cup final.

He came close to winning the league title in 2019/20 season where they lost the league on the last day of the season, while his only final was the continental CAF Champions League final, when Chiefs lost to Al Ahly in 2021.

The former Amakhosi forward has made 10 appearances for Galaxy and scored three goals including one Carling Knockout Cup goal against AmaZulu FC.

“Kokota Piano” as he is famously known told the media that, even though it’s his first final he won’t let that overwhelm him. He will bring his best to win his first ever official trophy since arriving in South Africa.

“Yeah, I never achieved something like that. Never trying to put myself under that pressure to think, I have to win some trophy or we need to do something, it’s really important to stay firm, like on the ground and just keep working hard training every game,” Nurkovic told the media.

“Push yourself to the maximum. Each and every player do whatever coach is asking from us and if it’s meant to be so like I said, just put some hard work and everything else will come.”
