Pirates Bolster Technical Team For Riveiro

Orlando Pirates have secured a new analyst from Stellenbosch FC to improve their technical staff for the 2024/25 season.

Riveiro ended off last season with another domestic double but he’ll go into the new season without the two Spaniards, he arrived with for the job.

Sergio Almenara and Miguel Bellver both left the club for personal reasons within the last campaign, with the former confirming his exit after their Nedbank Cup triumph.

While talks have been ongoing for a new assistant coach to replace Almenara, the club has already secured Devon O’Brien as a new analyst, according to sources within the club.

O’Brien himself confirmed his Stellenbosch exit on social media over the weekend.

His arrival boosts an already impressive technical team, as they look to make ground on Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership next season.

Pirates did confirm after the Nedbank Cup final triumph that they are on the hunt for several backroom staff additions.

“The Club – with consultation of the head coach – will look to use this offseason break to find a suitable replacement/s as well as bolster the backroom staff in the technical, analysis, medical and conditioning departments,” they stated.
