Bafana Bafana B secured passage into the 2025 COSAFA Cup semifinals after a 0-0 draw with Mauritius at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
It would always be tricky for South Africa as they faced a Mauritius side that hadn’t conceded a single goal in this year’s COSAFA Cup.

Vela Khumalo’s side started with a high tempo trying to get an early goal, but the compact defence of Mauritius remained resolute.
South Africa created half-chances from set-pieces but both Ime Okon and Aden McCarthy failed to convert the chances as the hosts went into the halftime break goalless which was not enough to send them through to the semi-finals.
In the second half, Khumalo made a few substitutions with the hope of getting that important goal which was going to send them into the semis and avoid being knocked out of the group stages in two consecutive years.
Mauritius had a glorious opportunity when Cooper Legrand had a shot inside the six-yard box but failed to hit the target.
The game ended goalless and with Mozambique losing 3-1 to Zimbabwe, it meant Khumalo’s South Africa advanced to the semi-final and will later learn their opponents.
