Cape Town City DStv Diski Challenge head coach Borja Herranz has advised starlet Emile Witbooi to stay humble and keep working hard.
The 16-year-old has left a few tongues wagging with his unique talent and was awarded the best player at the Engen Knockout Challenge earlier this year.
Witbooi, who is the son of former City winger Bradley Ralani, recently represented the South African U20 side at the 2024 COSAFA U20 Cup, playing a starring role as they won the trophy without conceding a goal, and has thus been tipped to be one the best youngsters South Africa has produced as he’s touted to be a big player.

Herranz offered free advice to the young Witbooi, stating that if he continues to work hard as he’s been doing and stays humble, he will be a good player.
“He is special, but he is also very young, and we’ve all seen a lot of cases when a young player looks good at their age,” Herranz told iDiski Times.
“Some of them live up to their potential, especially if they keep on working hard and stay humble.
“I think that’s a challenge for him if he wants to make the best of his talent and keep working like he is doing and that’s the only way.”
