On loan Cape Town City defender Nathan Fasika Idumba and midfielder Fidel Brice Ambina both made their official debuts for the Norwegian club.
Three weeks ago, Idumba was confirmed to have joined Valerenga on season-long loan deal from City alongside Cameroonian ace Brice Ambina.
The Norwegian side will have Idumba and Ambina for nine months with an option to buy, if they impress.
DR Congo international Idumba joined the Citizens back in July 2021 on a five-year deal, which means that his contract with City will only expire in June 2026.
Idumba didn’t take long to settle in Norway as he was voted best player for Valerenga in a 4-0 loss against Swedish side AIK in a friendly match.
He also featured 90 minutes in the opening match of hte season, 1-1 drww with Sogndal on Monday. It was his first official match since sustaining a long-term knee injury in December 2022.
His former City teammate Ambina also featured for 90 minutes in Valerenga’s season opener.
The duo are expected to play a vital role in the Valerenga side as they look to get back to topflight football.
