Done Deal: Letsoalo Seals R3m Switch

Bafana Bafana striker Victor Letsoalo has sealed a surprise move from Royal AM to Sekhukhune United in a deal worth around R3-million, iDiski Times has learnt.

Letsoalo was strongly linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, with the former being quoted at around R20-million for their first approach in January.

While the player and Chiefs were left equally dejected by the price tag, Arthur Zwane hinted that the deal was not possible nearing the end of the season over the demands.

Letsoalo himself was left unhappy by his club’s unwillingness to lower the demands and last month when he submitted an official transfer request, Royal AM informed him R5-million would be enough to facilitate his exit after signing the likes of Samir Nurkovic, Andre de Jong and Ruzaigh Gamildien ahead of the new season.

And it appears to have been a place of the right moment for Babina Noko to strike, with an offer of R3-million accepted for the 29-year-old striker who finished second behind Peter Shalulile in the 2021/23 Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot race.

iDiski Times has reliably been informed that after the bid was accepted, Letsoalo put pen to paper on a three-year deal with a one-year option to extend.

The South Africa international scored 16 goals in 30 games across all competitions for the KZN outfit last season.

Letsoalo becomes Sekhukhune’s 14th signing ahead of the 2022/23, with more expected to arrive.
