Kaizer Chiefs left-back Edmilson Dove says the competition between him and teammate Sifiso Hlanti is a healthy one because it is for the benefit of the team.
Dove hasn’t had played much this season because of a groin injury though he came off the bench at half-time in the MTN8 semi-final second leg against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Hlanti, meanwhile, has been key for Amakhosi in the left-back position having played nine matches in all competitions so far.
The Mozambique international spoke to iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 120 of the newspaper, where he said Chiefs benefits from having players in the national teams and he and Hlanti have a common goal of contributing to the success of the club.
“Obviously, Chiefs is a big team” Dove told iDiski Times.
“And if we can have more players in the national team it means there’s something good being done in the background behind the scenes.
“So it’s good in terms of competition, I don’t think we are competing because I feel like we all fight for the same thing.
“You know, whoever plays as long as he contributes to the growth of the team, to bring the team to where it really belongs, it’s a win for all of us.”
