SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt showed some sympathy to his Kaizer Chiefs counterpart Molefi Ntseki, who once again came under fire from Amakhosi fans on Wednesday night.
Some Chiefs fans hurled objects at their coach and management after their side lost 1-0 to Matsatsantsa at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, with the police having to escort Ntseki into the tunnel.
This was Amakhosi’s second game in a row without a win following goalless draw with Royal AM over the weekend, and also the second time that Ntseki has seen missiles thrown at him.
Hunt says he can relate to what Ntseki is going through, but insisted that there are different ways to express for the fans to express their frustrations.
“I’ve been there. I’ve been there, I’ve been there at Swallows in the boot of a car,” Hunt told the media after the game.
“I’ve been there, so I understand. It’s not for me to really comment. That’s not the right way to handle things.
“We need to be more understanding of situations. And maybe they win on Saturday, then what happens? So you never know in football…
“But ja, I think we can handle these things in other ways. It’s just, it’s sad, it’s very sad.”
