Janevski Leaves Bafana For New Job

Cedomir Janevski has left his role as Bafana Bafana assistant coach to take over as head coach at Cypriot giants AEL Limassol until the end of the season.

The 61-year-old who arrived in the country as the assistant to Hugo Broos holds extensive management experience having coached the likes of the Macedonia national team, Club Brugge while he also had stints in Greece, Egypt, Serbia, Belgium, Saudi Arabia and Cyprus.

After one year and four months with Bafana Bafana, he’s resigned to be appointed at AEL for the season after they sacked Jorge Manuel Rebelo Fernandes following a poor start to the season.

The former Olympiacos assistant coach will jet off to Cyprus this weekend before taking his first training session with his new club on Monday as he looks to turn around their fortunes.

Helman Mkhalele is now the sole assistant coach to Broos and the situation is likely to remain unchanged with the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations winning coach happy with his current technical team.
