Khanye Names His Player Of The Season Nominees

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye has revealed which three players he would pick as his three nominees for the Player of the Season.

The iDiskiTV analyst, who recently launched his book ‘Ghetto Ninja’, believes three Mamelodi Sundowns stars should be rewarded for their fine form this season.

The Premier Soccer league confirmed on Wednesday that they would release the nominees for the different PSL awards will be released on Thursday.

Khanye, has been a vocal of Andile Jali, previously discussed the topic on iDiskiTV and it is no surprise that the midfielder is at the top of his list.

“He is the best Midfielder in the country, improving every year. He is the best. He has got a big heart,” Khanye said.

He picked last year’s Player of the Season, Themba Zwane as well, saying: “Themba Zwane, for me he is the best number 10 in the country. Very clever player. He doesn’t have pace but he has a good football brain.”

Finally, centre-back Rushine De Reuck completes Khanye’s three picks for Player of the Season after his fine performances in 2021/22.

“For a player that comes from Maritzburg United, he has done well for himself,” Khanye added.

“Very calm on the ball. I don’t know why Hugo Broos didn’t start him on the game against France. I like him as a defender.”

Meanwhile, Khanye’s colleague at iDiskiTV, Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi also named his picks for the Player of the Season, choosing Shalulile, Jali and Victor Letsoalo, while iDiskiTV host Nkululeko Nkewu selected Jali, Shalulile and Ashley Du Preez.
