New Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki says he is ready for the responsibility involved in leading the Soweto giants.
The former Bafana Bafana boss landed the role of Head of Technical and Youth Development in May 2021 after being fired as the national team head coach.
His progress in the development structures has been evident with Amakhosi dominating youth team selections but the reshuffle still comes as a surprise as the club interviewed several coaches and were seriously considering the appointment of Nasreddine Nabi.
However, the club’s hierarchy confirmed that Ntseki will now lead the club into the 2023/24 season, with former head coach Arthur Zwane returning to his previous role as the assistant coach alongside Dillon Sheppard.
“I fully accept this huge responsibility that the Chairman, our Board of Directors and the Club have bestowed on me with humility and respect,” he said.
“I thank them for their confidence and belief in me to become the captain of the ship. I look forward to working with everyone involved in the technical team to bring joy to our millions of Amakhosi supporters around the world.”
Chiefs will be hoping their latest technical team changes their fortunes as they look to end an eight-year trophy drought.
