Former Orlando Pirates and Baroka forward Siphamandla Sangweni has joined Township Rollers, the club has confirmed.
The 34-year-old joined Pirates from Black Leopards in January 2015, but was twice loaned out, first to All Stars for six month and later Baroka.
The former South African U23 international had a promising start to his career but unfortunately it never really took off and he left the Buccaneers in 2017.
After being on the fringes of the game, Sangweni has now made a surprise return to the headlines after moving to Botswana, where he joined Township Rollers on a two-year-deal.
“Township Rollers FC is pleased to announce the signing of South African centre forward Siphamandla Sangweni,” the club stated.
“The former Orlando Pirates and Baroka striker joins Popa on a two-year contract. Join us in welcoming him to the Blues.”
This increases the number of former Pirates players playing in Botswana, with Sangweni following the likes of Sifiso Myeni and Rooi Mahamutsa.
