Sekhukhune Rope In New Signing

Sekhukhune United have announced the signing of Given Mashikinya, after his exit from Maritzburg United.

Mashikinya’s exit from Maritzburg was reported by iDiski Times earlier today.

Now less than six months after leaving Royal AM, he finds himself joining new coach Brandon Truter at Sekhukhune.

The 31-year-old midfielder had previously played – and moved – with two clubs who sold their top-flight statuses, most recently at Bloemfontein Celtic before their sale to Royal AM. Prior to that he was part of the contingent that joined Cape Town City from Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Mashikinya made 11 appearances this season for the Team of Choice.

“Sekhukhune United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Given Kamogelo Mashikinya,” their statement read.

“Mashikinya (31), joins Babina Noko after last having played for Maritzburg United FC. A model professional who plays both central midfield and right back.”

“I’d like to thank the Management of the Club for having afforded me an opportunity to become part of the family,” Mashikinya said.

“I’m excited to be here I’m going to work hard to maintain the good name of the Club.

“Its interesting times ahead I’m looking forward to the remaining part of the season and beyond.”
