Breaking: Ferreira Joins Leopards

A week after resigning from Tshakhuma, Johnny Ferreira is back with another Limpopo club after joining Black Leopards on Wednesday.

Ferreira resigned from TTM last week, and was interviewed in this week’s iDiski Times newspaper by Lethabo Kganyago on that decision. You can grab a free copy at Shoprite stores in Gauteng, or read the Digital Edition right here on the website on Friday.

Now Ferreira has joined Lidoda Duvha, replacing Joel Masutha, who has reportedly joined the technical team at Venda Football Academy.

VFA is ironically the club Ferreira was in charge of last season, but despite leading them to fourth in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, was surprisingly let go.

The experienced Ferreira, who has coached all across the country, will have a big task ahead of him for the remaining 18 games of the season, as Leopards are currently 14th.

Ferreira confirmed the news on his social media, saying he hopes to take Leopards back to the heights of the past.

“I have just joined Black Leopards as we speak for the people that don’t know,” Ferreira said.

“I’m here for a meeting, to meet the players and looking forward to a very lucrative 18 games with Black Leopards. There’s only one way they can go, is up.

“And I believe with the assistance of my chairman Mr. David Thidiela plus Chief, plus Elijah, plus all the coaching staff members, that we can take this club to where they belong.

“Sleeping giant of South African football, underachieving. I don’t know why, but we’ll fix that. And I’ve told the chairman that we’ll be in the top three at the end of the season.”
