New Chippa United Technical Director Vusumuzi Vilakazi also occupies a role as assistant and will sit on the bench next to Morgan Mammila.
After the surprise exit at Lamontville Golden Arrows two weeks ago, Vilakazi was announced as new Technical Director by the Chilli Boys.
But ‘Kanu’ will also be working as assistant coach to head coach Mammila as well and he is expected to sit on the bench alongside Siyabulela Gwambi, who’s the first assistant coach to Mammila.
The evergreen Mammila made it clear that he needs VV next to him, as he feels like there’s still a lot of work to be done in the first team.
“It’s not a fluke for Golden Arrows to be where they are now. I think he has proven that he is one of the up and coming coaches,” Mammila told the media.
“So having him here is a bonus for me. By the way leave the ‘TD thing’ he is not gonna even have time for development. His main focus is to assist me in the senior team and take Chippa United to the next level.
“One thing for sure there’s a lot of work in the senior team. I need his full focus there.”
Chippa are only back in action next week Tuesday when they will face Richards Bay, who haven’t collected a win in 19 games.
