‘All We Want Is To Keep On Making History’
Speaking ahead of the CAF Champions League semi-final first leg against Wydad Casablanca, Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande says the team want to keep on making history.
While it was a disappointing domestic season for the Amakhosi, which even led to the sacking of previous coach Gavin Hunt, there run in this season CAFCL has been historic for the club.
Katsande says that reaching the group stages already was a great achievement for the club, and every step they have taken has been historical for the club.
The Zimbabwean veteran says being in the last four is huge, and now they want to go one step further.
“Ja, reaching the semifinals of Champions League with Kaizer Chiefs is a huge milestone,” Katsande said.
“And not only talking about semifinal, we’re talking about qualifying for group stages, as you know that we haven’t reached beyond first round. This season, we managed to get to group stages, it was history on its own, for the club, for us as players.
“And going to quarterfinals was also a plus to the group, and to the to the biggest brand, Kaizer Chiefs, also to put it up there in Africa, to say that we can also compete.
“Here we are now, we are in the semi final, and is a huge game for us. And we’ve got so many internationals in the team, whereby we’re going to execute our game plan and try to go all the way and go to the final.
“All we want is to keep on making history for this brand.
