Brighton Boss Pleased For Tau Goal

Brighton & Hove Albion coach Graham Potter has reacted to Percy Tau scoring his first goal for the Premier League club.

Tau came off the bench in a pre-season friendly against Luton Town to score his first goal in Brighton colours following a superb solo run.

Potter praised his side’s overall performance in their 3-1 victory and insisted it was a nice moment for Tau to get onto the score sheet.

“I thought we played well, first half especially, controlled the game, created some good chances, scored some good goals,” he told the club’s media department.

“I’m very pleased for Enock (Mwepu) to get off the mark with a goal.

“Disappointed with the error that gave them their goal, which makes the second half more competitive. It’s probably something we just have to accept and learn from.

“In the end our response was good and nice for Percy to score the third. Lot’s of young players and players getting minutes, so it was a really good afternoon for us.”

Tau has been part of Brighton’s complete pre-season after the club refused to let him go to the Olympics.

He is close to kicking off his first full campaign at the Amex Stadium, three years after joining the club from Mamelodi Sundowns.
