Tau Reacts To First Brighton Goal, Explains Celebration
Percy Tau has reacted to scoring his first goal for Brighton & Hove Albion and also explained his celebration.
The Lion of Judah featured in the second half in a 3-1 victory over Luton Town, scoring his side’s final goal of the game.
It was his first in Brighton colours following a brilliant run from near the half-way line, dropping a few opposition defenders before scoring with his weaker foot.
“Yeah, look I’m pleased it’s my first goal for the club, I’m so happy,” he told Brighton’s media department.
“I tried something and in the end of the day it worked out. I saw an opportunity that I could score and I tried to do something and it happened. It worked out pretty well.”
Tau also explained his goal celebration, which many will still know from his time in Mzansi.
“Hopefully they’ll see more of it. That’s the one, that’s my celebration,” he added.
“It’s a celebration from South Africa that I used to do. I just twisted it a bit to make it a bit fun.”
The South African then also gave an insight into Brighton’s pre-season so far before talking about his expecations for Brighton’s Premier League opener at Burnley.
“I think it has been going well. We are happy that we got a win. I played some minutes and hopefully I’ll get more minutes and I’ll get better,” he said.
“Of course we want to win it but at the moment the focus is to try and get better during these pre-season games. Get our confidence, get our flow so that we feel fresh for the first game.”
