Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Themba Zwane was included in the CAF Champions League Team of the Week.
The 32-year-old scored Masandawana’s only goal in their 1-0 win over Al Hilal Omdurman on Friday, earning his side an important three points.
It was Zwane’s ninth goal in all competitions this season and his third in three CAFCL games this campaign.
The Team of the Week was dominated by three players from Wydad Casablanca after the Moroccon giants beat Angola’s Sagrada 3-0.
Meanwhile, Tunisian side Esperance picked up the biggest win of the weekend, beating Jwaneng Galaxy 4-0 in the guest’s first ever game at this stage of the competition.
The side who are coached by South African Morena Ramoreboli sensationally qualified after knocking out Tanzanian giants Simba in the previous round.
Esperance’s Mohamed Ben Romdhane scored a hat-trick in the game and is one of two players of his side in the Team of the Week.
