Uruguay national team coach Oscar Tabarez has described PSG and Brazil midfielder Neymar as ‘one of the great players of our time’.
Tabarez was relieved to not have to face the Brazilian maestro this week, as the 28-year-old was out with an adductor injury
“Neymar is one of the great players of our time and beyond the tasks he has to accomplish at the defensive level, in attack he is very important,” Tabarez said before their match this week.
“In Brazil, space is left for individual creativity. He makes the Brazilian attack stronger with his speed, technique, face-to-face decisions, persistence and winning mentality.”
While Tabard was pleased to not have to face Neymar this week, it made little difference to the result, as Brazil walked away 2-0 winners to keep their 100% record in the South American World Cup qualifying games.
Arthur and Richarlison were on the scoresheet for Brazil.
