Percy Tau got his first action for Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, as the English Premier League side beat Newport County 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out, after it ended 1-1 in the FA Cup.

Tau made his appearance off the bench, coming on in the 71st minute.

With the game still goalless, Brighton manager Graham Potter was hoping Tau would make an immediate impact.

Tau had his first attempt at goal in the 84th minute, but while he did well to create space to take the shot, it went straight to the Newport goalkeeper.

Brighton went ahead n the 90th minute through Solly March, but an Adam Webster own goal saw it end 1-1 in regulation time.

Extra time followed and after no score in the first half, it looked like the game was heading to penalties.

With about five minutes left of extra time, Tau had a good chance to win the game for Brighton, but he rushed his shot and blasted over, and the game went to the shoot out.

It was bright cameo from Tau though, and he got almost an hour on the pitch.

Jason Steele, who had been at fault for Webster’s own goal, saved 4 penalties for Brighton in the shoot out as they won 4-3. Tau did not take a penalty.

Brighton play Manchester City in the EPL on Wednesday.
