South African referee Victor Gomes will be the man in the middle in Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Egypt.
CAF confirmed the appointment of Gomes as the referee for the final on Friday.
While a polarising figure in South Africa, Gomes is a highly respected official domestically and internationally.
He will be assisted by fellow South African Zakhele Siwela and Lesotho’s Souro Phatsoane.
The final between Senegal and Egypt will played at 9pm on Sunday.
