AmaTuks Announce New Players

GladAfrica Championship side AmaTuks have announced twelve new signings ahead of the 2021/2022 season, as well as eleven departures from the club.

Tuks announced Ayanda Mvambi, Quinton Stokes-Waller, Lulama Maqoko, Blessing Mabasa, Kitso More, Kamogelo Pheeane, Lesedi Motha, Trevor Mokwena, Sibongakonke Mbatha, Keegan Allan, Thakasani Mbanjwa and Simnikiwe Mbonde.

“We have had to reinforce in a number of departments, particularly upfront,” head coach Jan Motaung said

“We really tested them at training and in the friendlies that they have played so far they have proven themselves. We looked at bringing in players with some experience but we also wanted players who will compete aerially and will be able to keep up with the pace because that is the model that we are going for this season.

“I believe that there are players within the club who can offer us what we are looking for in the senior set up. A player like Lesedi who has excellent anticipation; he can see things before they happen and he is very confident on the ball and is not afraid to take players on.

“As the senior team we have an obligation to give these boys a chance. I am grateful that we have been able to bring in a majority of our target players early enough so that we could have good preseason preparations. So far the players have met what we have demanded of them and they understand what will be demanded of them in the coming season.”

Meanwhile the club also confirmed the departures of Katlego Mohamme, Collins Mbesuma, Athenkosi Dlala, Msikayise Myataza, Tumisang Mashele, Nqubeko Dlamini, Masesenyane Maswanganyi, Clifford Ngobeni, Siyabonga Khumalo and Sipho Senne, while Claudio De Almeida will be focussing on his articles after completing his law degree.
