Bafana Bafana have remained at the top of the Group G log after Zimbabwe lost 1-0 to Ethiopia thanks to a last-minute penalty on Tuesday.
The latter two locked horns on Tuesday but their clash resulted in a victory for the hosts, helping Hugo Broos’ men to stay at the top of the table.
South Africa have collected four points so far, while Ghana follow in second place with three points.
Ethiopia have climbed into third place after collecting three points and Zimbabwe dropped to the bottom with just 1 point.
The World Cup qualifiers continue in October when South Africa face Ethiopia in a double header.
