‘Baxter Alone Won’t Change Chiefs’
Muhsin Ertugral has insisted that Stuart Baxter’s appointment at Kaizer Chiefs might not change much unless the club addresses its deeper issues.
The former Amakhosi coach spoke to iDiski Times writer Rob Delport and revealed that he was surprised to hear about Gavin Hunt’s sacking.
With Baxter widely expected to return to Naturena for a second stint, Ertugral believes that chopping and changing coaches may not be the solution to Chiefs’ problems.
“I don’t think so that Baxter alone now coming in, suddenly the world shines bright, it’s not going to be like that,” he said.
“So I think the problems of Chiefs, for me, are much more deeper. Now for a couple of years its been going like this. I think that needs to be addressed.
“Not only players and I think the management has also to look to itself as well.”
Interim coach Arthur Zwane led the Glamour Boys into the top eight after winning the final two games since Hunt was sacked, but Baxter is expected to be announced before the CAF Champions League semi-final against Wydad Casablanca.
