Stuart Baxter has commented for a first time on the rumours linking Kaizer Chiefs with SuperSport United duo Sipho Mbule and Teboho Mokoena.
The Glamour Boys have been heavily linked with a move to Naturena, with some reports even saying Mbule, in particular, had already agreed terms with Amakhosi.
With both players hailing from SuperSport United, Baxter’s former club, the Chiefs coach was now asked directly about the rumours, but dismissed them without ruling out working with either in future.
“Well, that’s a tough question, because they’re not my players,” he told Thabiso Mosia on SAFMSportOn.
“They are not my players and they’re quite expensive players. I’m not sure that we can be in the market for that level of transfer fee at the moment.
“But both of them are talented lads and I know them very well and I’d have no problem of working with them in the future.”
Mbule and Mokoena will likely be in action for SuperSport on Saturday, when Kaitano Thembo’s side face Golden Arrows in their MTN8 quarter-final.
Chiefs, meanwhile, will face Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
