The draw for the preliminary rounds of the CAF Confederation Cup took place on Friday, with Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants finding out their fate.
CAF also confirmed that 51 clubs had officially been entered in the draw for the continental competition.
Pirates were given a bye for the preliminary first round, as they were one of the 13 highest ranked teams in the draw.
Gallants, who won the Nedbank Cup (under the Tshakhuma monicker) will make their continental debut in this competition and they will face Futuro Kings from Equatorial Guinea in the opening round.
If they do progress, Gallants will face AS Vita (DRC) in the next round.
Pirates will enter the competition in the second preliminary round, and last season’s quarter-finalists will face the winners between Bumamuru FC (Burundi) and Diables Noirs (Congo).
