Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat says he is thrilled to fit and part of the pre-season, and says there is a great energy at the club at the moment.
Chiefs are in action on Sunday when they face Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 quarter-finals, and while the Zimbabwean knows his former team will be tough, he is hoping Chiefs can start the season strongly.
Billiat says there is a great energy at training at the moment, and he is enjoying every day at Naturena.
“I think it’s so refreshing to have the guys, the energy is different, and the coach, we actually in a very good space, I think this is a very good start for us,” Billiat told Chiefs media department.
“We need to start very strong and we know Sundowns is not a easy side to play against.
“So we trying by all means to get everything that we need to get from the coaches right before the weekend.
“Ja, I strongly believe that we feeling good and we working towards the right goal and it’s just interesting to come to training every day, enjoying and we seeing a lot of smiles and the guys are looking sharp as well.”
After missing out large parts of last season through injury, Billiat is feeling excited about being fit and is raring to go.
“Ja, definitely. It has been difficult for me but like, for the first time I’m feeling good, for the first time I’m feeling fresh,” he continued.
“And it’s just refreshing to be training with everyone, with new guys, the tactical side of the game is just amazing.
“It’s amazing to be training, amazing to come and meet the guys, every day is a day to enjoy and do what we love to do!”
