Benni Smashes More AmaZulu Records

Benni McCarthy has smashed more records as his AmaZulu climbed to the top of the DStv Premiership table.

Usuthu extended their unbeaten run to 16 games and moved above Mamelodi Sundonws on the standings following their 1-0 win in the KZN Derby over Golden Arrows.

AmaZulu have become the first side to collect 50 points in the DStv Premiership this season, moving two points clear of Masandawana, who have three games in hand.

McCarthy himself has collected an incredible 44 points since taking over the club, which is more than AmaZulu ever finished a full PSL campaign with.

To date, their best two seasons came in 2008/09 and 2013/14, when they collected 42 points.

The 43-year-old has been in charge of AmaZulu in 20 DStv Premiership games, picking up 13 wins, five draws and just two defeats.

Earlier this campaign, McCarthy already set new club records after recording six successive wins as well as six consecutive games without conceding a single goal.
