TS Galaxy midfielder Ethan Brooks has commented on his performance for Bafana Bafana in their 1-0 win over Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers on Monday.
Brooks says it was an amazing experience, getting the chance to start against a team he has been watching since he was young, with Ghana being one of his mother’s favourite teams.
He was singled out by coach Hugo Broos after the victory for his strong performance and the 20-year-old says the coach’s belief in him, helped him out there.
“It was very amazing for me,” he told the club’s media department.
“I mean, I’ve been watching Ghana since a very young age. I mean, it’s one of my mother’s favorite African teams.
“So for me, it was a very good experience for me to actually start the game and finish it. I learned a lot throughout that whole game. Like I said it was amazing.”
Brooks say coach Broos gave him the confidence to do well.
“No, he made it very easy for me,” he continued.
“I mean, the day before, he said to me, I’m must just go and play like I play at the club. Play with confidence, don’t be too scared, do what I do. And verything will come well.”
