Chiefs Announce Six Will Miss Gallants Clash

Kaizer Chiefs have announced that more players have joined the club’s long-term absentees on the treatment table.

Amakhosi have been without Leonardo Castro, Siyabonga Ngezana and Dumsani Zuma, who are all yet to feature in the new season.

In addition, Samir Nurković, Phathutshedzo Nange and Kgaogelo Sekgota have also been sidelined.

Nurkovic underwent surgery on an ongoing keen problem, the club conformed via it’s website.

“I have had this injury niggling me for a while now – the medical team felt it was best to get the operation done. Further assessments will be done after the operation. The medical team will give me a timeline on the recovery process after that,” the striker said.

Meanwhile, Nange picked up a thigh injury against Royal AM, while Sekgota needed stitches following a knock on his ankle.

Chiefs also confirmed that “Castro’s rehabilitation has moved up a gear as he has begun running again and is progressing well as he targets a return to action.

“Ngezana in the meantime is in the final stages of his rehabilitation process and should be back in full training by the middle of October. Zuma is still in the rehabilitation phase as he recovers from a knee injury.”

The Glamour Boys face Gallants at 17:00 today.
